I'd ask how often are you playing? Why I ask is because back long ago when I had nothing but time on my hands I played around 50 rounds a year. You are lucky if there is a 5 month season so I was out at least 10 times a month. Heck somedays all I did was play golf. Would start with a nine hole pitch and putt for a warmup. Then go out and play 18 or 36 holes.

No lessons and my game just got better and better and better.

Now I'm lucky to go out once a month and my game is always the same. Never know what shot I'm going to hit. When I played a lot I knew exactly what club to hit without any fancy little gadget to help me. I was super confident over the ball. Who knows if my swing was just right but I got results.

I find it frustrating now as it's like starting over every time I go out. So if you are trying to improve while not being able to play that much I can't see how you go forward. Lessons would be a good boost but nothing works in any sport except playing it a lot.
