I've often wondered that myself. I have known several people from BC, Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes over the years who are always ranting and raving about how crappy of a city Calgary is - and how we're all a bunch of rednecks and Bible thumpers who were lucky enough to stumble across some oil.
At least once, I will hear a "I can't wait to move back home, where
this and
this is so much better," or "I'm just here long enough to make some dough, and then I'm out of here!"
Yet, they never leave... and if they do, they usually head north.
