Winnable or lost-cause case, I'm getting the floor fixed. Would you agree that things would be pretty heavily in my favor if I get a carpenter to tighten the subfloor to the joists and it does in fact fix the problem?

Would a 'buddy' carpenter be a bad choice to do this, and bring into court with me?
