Sauvignon Blanc is often described as "Cat Pee". I don't know why.

Twenty two bucks is a lot to spend for a Chilean white wine, especially if it's
Sauvignon Blanc -- a wine best known for tasting like cat pee. In fact, the French, who produce some of the worlds' most famous Sauv Blanc, in their ever-charming way, highly praise the aroma of "pipi du chat."

The best of the French wines made from 100 percent Sauvignon Blanc grapes are produced in the loire Valley at sancerre and pouilly-fumé. They're crisp and tart and sometimes have a noticeable flinty characteristic. A classic aroma reference for some of the Loire Valley wines is cat pee.
