The thing about keeping your beer colder for 50 minutes longer isn't a concern for the beer you are currently drinking, guys.

It's about keeping the next beer and the next beer cold for longer.

It would be great for patio or beach drinking.

Take a case of beer, chill it appropriately and four guys get to have cold beer until they finish drinking it.

I dunno, it makes sense to me.

Oh, and in regards to kids making bongs out of beer bottles...It would be easier to make a bong with an aluminium beer bottle. Introduce Mr. Power Drill with a larger bore metal bit to the aluminium beer bottle and Presto...instant bong.
