Also, which Beemer does your husband have again that was $35k? I might want to upgrade my squeeky-sedan for one of those snazzy Beemers once I get a job. Driving down the CA coast in a family car sedan just isn't the california experience, so I'm enticed to pick up something more "californian"...

Phanuthier..
I forgot to mention..BMW has a great deal right now (my husband and I did this) where if you opt for the European Delivery program, you get to take 5% or so off of MSRP, plus get a buy one get one free deal where you get to fly Lufthansa to Germany. You PICK UP your car at the BMW plant in Munich...get 14 days there...can return your car in a large variety of European cities, your car insurance is paid for....and they pay to ship the car back. Not bad eh? They dont do it for all the BMWs...but the 1 series is definitely on there!
PS dont go to BMW Stevens Creek..its a rip off. Go to BMW East Bay in Pleasonton...they dont mark up their prices.

We bought about 6 months ago and did our research and had a wonderful experience!
