Despite this not-so well thought initiative (right idea wrong location maybe) Druh Farrell does far more to try and push Calgary in a more liveable direction - particularly when it comes to urban planning and design. She spear-headed a lot of things, even simple things like having an urban design review panel, and bettering urban design standards in planning documents. If you understand the planning process, you'll understand that this has made quite a difference in terms of the quality of a lot of buildings that are going up in Calgary. She's one of the few on council that actually care that Calgary may become a city worth caring about - instead of just becoming another bland sprawled Houston or Phoenix like the Ric McIver's of Council want to.
