I have something moss like growing around the perimeter of my lawn. I think its because my landscaper scalped it down to bare dirt along the perimeter flower bed because he's too lazy to use an edger and now he can just mow. I suspect standing water is the issue. Its too hot this weekend to tend to the lawn but I think throwing seed down will solve the problem as the grassroots will absorb the water causing the moss. Also, the landscaper will need another stern talking to about scalping my lawn again.
Its probably partly my fault. I know I need to set the sprinkler timer to come on later in the morning during winter and I didn't do that this year. So the water comes on at 4am and the grass is still wet at 8am. The bare edge just has water sitting there for hours.
