This summer the Hawks have made some good deals for the team and some that are a bit questionable by some.
On the good side, Rob Blake leading the Hawks young D this season, was aquired for Phillipe Boucher and a couple of picks. This deal was an obvious salary dump for the Ducks, but we were happy to be in the right place at the right time to snap up Blake.
Esche for Dennis was a toss up, but getting Erat and Krajicek in the deal put it over the top for the Hawks. Krajicek could be a flop but he is a favortite, we have had an eye on him since Florida drafted him. We have high expectations for Erat also. I really liked that deal as a personal favorite.
Sending Leopold and Sjostrom ( and Afinogenov) to the Flames for Phillipe Boucher and Freddie Modin nearly make me puke. I was sick about that deal. But in the end I traded Boucher for Blake and Freddie for Trent Hunter. Hunter was a big part of the deal that got us St Louis. So I suppose I should stop whining about the deal with the Flames. Axel will agree I am sure :P
Then there was that deal that sent Modin and the couple high 1sts to the Nords. But refer to the deal for St Louis and it doen't look too bad now
