I watched the video.

To me I think Jian did a pretty good job. He treated the band the same way he does in other interviews (I watched a couple), but for BBT to insinuate that his band has any sense of popularity simply based on their own merits is ridiculous at best. They have an opportunity to perform, and perform with the likes of Willie Nelson because of the famous nature of their drummer. To deny that fact is to pretend that you're something you're not.

That being said, Jian was exactly right about why he brought up the acting thing. He provided context for those who aren't watching the video as to who exactly he is talking to, that it is indeed the actor, and then proceeded to make it all about the music.

Furthermore, BBT is most well known for his acting career, and it is fair to say that it is likely his primary interest/passion. So the questions he asked about his passions towards music are pretty justified.
