That would be fine with me too. This would probably increase trading as a trade would be the only way to get a guy like that at the end of the season. In all honesty it would probably be a better way to go.
I like that teams have to make their buyouts at a time that they have to comply with the cap so nobody gets off scott free for buying out a bad contract. But it does put a few guys into the free agent pool at the end of the year who used to get bought out when the watchdog isn't in effect and become summer free agents.
