Players skip training camps all the time because they are discontent with their contract. Most teammates realize that because that NFL teams have the ability to release players without penalty than you have to get all you can on your current contract or renegotiate. I don't think it bothers teammates when another sits out its part of the business. Obviously they would prefer to have the entire roster in training camp but it's just not realistic in a system where teams don't have to adhere to contracts.
