I did a 14 day South American cruise. Originally the wife and I had booked a standard ocean view room but they offered us a last minute upgrade to a balcony stateroom. With the port fee's it cost $780 U.S. per person, for us that also included the $130 fee for a tourist card to enter Chile. To be on the ship, eat the way we did and get to see the stuff we did I thought it was a pretty good deal. Some people at a hostel in Val Paraiso claimed they were spending close to that much money per day to stay in a dorm room and cook their own meals if you factored in transportation.

I think LAN has some Toronto to Buenos Aires flights on sale right now too.
