It might be possible with the right hacks, and it certainly is not supported by Shaw. I made a post about this a couple years back and got some response. I never followed up on it though, since I moved out of town and lost my PVR.

This is the link to the thread I made : http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthr...er+computer%27

Edit: ok I just realized you were not talking about a PVR, but a normal digital reciever.

There are 2 options,

1) a SlingBox, which allows you to watch your TV through any internet connection. The SOLO costs about 200 bucks I think, I have never investigated them thoroughly though.

2) Or you what you could do, to save a bit of cash is use a video capture card to get the stream onto your computer and then access your computer, through something like Hamachi to access the stream there. There might be a good program that allows you to do this easily, or you might be able to use a DVR client, like MythTV, to do it for you. The card you can get as low as $45, everything else is free for personal use. It would essentially be a sling box for 45 bucks depending on the control you could get of the DVR software across the network (maybe remote desktop log in?). If you could solve the software part of this I would be very interested in how it works out.
