You sure about that? RPGs are my main genre, so this concern has come up a lot for me...

Final Fantasy 3 and 4
Dragon Warrior 4, 5 and 6
Chrono Trigger
Rune Factory 1 and 2
PSP
Final Fantasy 1 and 2
I don't know much about PSPs library, so feel free to fill in some big ones I've left out, but the ones I listed for DS were pretty much the deciding factor for me.
One thing that keeps the PSP a viable option is the fact that it can be modded to play original PS1 games... like Final Fantasy 7 for instance.
