Apparently he had an extremely good pro-day workout on campus that had the "draft gurus" buzzing (OT - I loathe Mel Kiper). Also, the Lions were supposedly working him out by himself in Detroit to get a better handle on him.
I think the Baylor OT is the better pick - as a former TE, his foot work is going to be excellent and he's been very strong throughout the combine and workout schedules. Also, he will likely be easier and cheaper to sign before the draft, which as a Raiders fan, I can say is something very appealing about a draft pick.
The Rams pick, for me, is the most interesting. They could really use an heir to Bulger and this would be a good year to get that successor. They also missed out on an OT last year and with Pace out, they need a new franchise OT. But, they also have defensive needs and I've heard/read talk that they have looked strongly at WR because of Holt's departure.
As for the Chiefs, I think they're crazy to take Curry. Get a DE for a pass rush or take one of the numerous solid OT's in the draft to protect your new "stud" QB.
The Raiders pick will once again be a wasted pick - Machlin or Crabtree. Sigh.
