I realize in general people from the US aren't that different from us but I've been to all 4 corners of the US and more and have found them to collectively be the rudest people ever. Whether it's the guy in Seattle asking if we have internet in Canada, the fat Boston frat boy getting pissed that the Montreal bank machine is giving him Canadian money rather than US dollars or people who couldn't point to Canada on a map, I'm amazed.
NY was the worst and for such a cool city, the people are unbelievably rude. I've been three times over the years to give it another shot but I just can't stand them. People in the US are very aggressive, hostile and they truly don't know much about the world outside of their country.
It seems like we Canadians for the most part do the same vacation all the time -either the all inclusive beach package in Mexico, the Dominican Republic or Cuba, or LA/Las Vegas/Miami/New York. The US has better weather and the south has better beaches but Canadians don't travel within their country like they should. And when I travel abroad, I go to Europe, Latin America, Australia, Asia etc. It is further and maybe more expensive but I think you get a better experience.
The US has great and terrible culture at the same time. For their great musicians, cool cities and interesting history, the food sucks, their sports are boring, their beer is terrible, people are rude and don't mention foreign politics. I won't judge an American until I meet him or her personally but my opinion of them generally isn't high. I don't understand how you can know virtually nothing about your neighbours when you only border 2 nations. I hate their war mongering and the celebrity obsessed culture following people like Britney or Hanna Montana around.
