English language - spelling, grammer, etc
This is kind of a spin off thread from another one where the discussion turned to spelling, grammer, etc.
Many of our younger generation have taken to short cuts, not only in typing but in speech as well. It seems to have caused some of the generation to have problems in spelling and text in general. Some have even gone so far to freely admit that due to easier forms of communication, IM etc. their vocabulary has declined.
Even I, had been caught doing an "LOL" or CYA. when I should have probably just typed out the entire phrasing. However, I should probably get to the point.
I came home one evening and found my 14 year old daughter watching a show called "America's best dance crew" Some very talented young people, I must say. Then the wierdest thing happened. I started to listen to the judges critique the acts. There was a guy who was in one of the Boy bands who started and spoke quite well in his critique of the band but then it moved on to a young woman that I believe was called Lil Mama.
To this day, hour, minute, second, I have absolutely no clue what that lady said. Talk about taking the english language and making a complete mockery of it. Please, tell me I am not the only one that finds that odd?
Has anyone watched the show and listened to this young lady speak? Please tell me this isnt the norm for today's youth?
