I distinctly saw a UFO last Summer in my backyard, quite unlike the typical saucer-floaty-shiny light types you hear about. It was a nice bright day, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky, so I figured I'd go outside and get some sun.

As I'm kind of relaxing with my eyes closed, I hear an crop duster-like plane or something zip by, so I open my eyes and just lazily watched it fly overhead and out of sight towards the east. After it was gone, I then I looked up toward the eastern sky to see a bunch of seagulls, hovering above what I could only assume was Safeway's parking lot, given the distance away they were. I remember being pretty captivated by how high they were actually flying. They just looked like tiny white specks in the sky, and I remember saying to myself, "If there were any clouds whatsover, I wouldn't be able to see them," but as I said before, this particular day was extremely sunny with a very rich blue sky and not a single cloud in any direction.

I watched this one seagull for a bit, up until it zipped under this long, dark gray and brown cylinder shape in the sky. At first I thought it was a dragonfly hovering over my hot tub gazeebo, but I saw few more seagulls fly underneath the thing and that's when I sat up, jaw dropped and head titled sideways.

It just sat there way up in the sky, perfectly still. It didn't appear as though it was hovering or moving in anyway. It was perfectly static. No lights. No rotations or shifts in it's movement at all. I stood there searching for any logical answer as to what this thing was. I really don't even know how to begin describing it.

So, I bolted inside to grab a camera or my camcorder. Of course, the camera was fresh out of batteries (go figure) and I frantically searched for some while shouting out to everybody in my house to come take a look at this thing. I was inside for probably 20-30 seconds and when I came back out, it was gone.

Still haven't really come up with an answer.
