If Ryan's velocity is less than 90 miles per hour he's not much more than a left handed specialist. His control and selection of pitches isn't good enough to face 4 right handed batters and expect to get 3 of them out Than again, closers and saves are a bit over rated. Scott Downs for the most part got a lot of tough outs when the Jays needed them, so they might be as well to use him for those again this year. Just don't make the mistake of leaving a guy like Ryan in there to get the save if you need to get two right handed hitters out to close out the game.
