Thanks guys! I appreciate all the help. I think the main problem was that I had some pitfalls built in to my system that were working for me with just one computer that weren't ideal. (That USB cable).

In the end, I realized that the modem is OUTSIDE my network and that I didn't need to have it as one of my network connections. The only reason it was showing up there was because of the stupid USB cable which I had completely forgot about after diving into the meat of the situation. Also inadvertantly switch my cables up at one point too. What a maroon!

Thanks again for everyone who offered their help. My frustration level was at an all time high!
