When you open the support tab for your ethernet card, what does it say your gateway is?

(Note: In the above screen snapshot, you have to double click on the connection, do not select "properties" as indicated in the screen shot, as that is wrong.)
If it begins with 192.... , then type that address in your web browser. If it begins with something else, then either you may have your DHCP server turned off on your router or your modem is connected to a LAN port on the router.
