I just don't get the thinking. The execution for the war on terror is dreadfully unpopular in the UK and as for Bush....! Aside from being unphased by bombs in the capitol having suffered them for years, the people are more likely now to galvanize around a more offensive stance in that war. Plus all the other leaders other than Bush were intent to talk about world poverty, global warming, african relief etc. and keep it away from security or at least from that dominating. Guess what now???

That where you are wrong. Although terrorists don't care who or what they kill, they do care what other countries think. The whole purpose of terrorism is some sort of political/ideological gain. Their acts, although completely disgusting, they see as a way to gain some sort of support in from like minded individuals- to bring attention to their cause. However irrational it is, support somehow legitamizes their acts.
