I had a Computer Science Prof. at the UofC who told us not to cheat on our assignments, because he could and would hack into our emails (most serious tone and face). Sadly, that is one of the main things I remember from that course.
Sorry about your hotmail being hacked. The only advice I could give is to delete items that you don't need on a weekly basis.
