I think if they do look at extending the season a couple extra days, then the NFL should alter the IR policy. Right now, if you're placed on the IR you're done for the season, end of story. Doesn't matter if two months from that point you're 100% healthy and ready to go, if you're on there, you're gone. But with more games and the risk of more injuries, it should be altered to say, a 9-game IR list, or something to that affect. Because you're right, more injuries are definitely likely with the longer season.
Either that, or increase active roster sizes.
