I'm not an expert but it sounds as if you're there as long as you're not changing rough in locations (e.g. toilet).

e.g. In Ontario the toilet needs to be at least 5 feet from the stack. I presume it's the same in Alberta.

edit Possibly, maybe they might want to see evidence of your ventilation stack to the outside for your bathroom fan?
