Jung tries his best once again to keep his team in it, but in the end the class of the Hitmen shows through. Those two goals 33 seconds apart in the third basically killed any glimmer of hope the Oil Kings may have had, especially the one the dribbled through Jung.
As the Fan broadcast wouldn't connect for me, I was forced to listen in on the Oil Kings broadcast. I just have to give a compliment to the Edmonton broadcasters, as hard as it is to acknowledge anything positive in relation to Edmonton. They were nothing but complimentary with regards to the Hitmen, large parts of the third period were spent discussing just how good this Hitmen team, organization, and players are. Both broadcasters also openly admitted that despite the obvious built in dislike of a Calgary team, they would be be cheering for the Hitmen for the rest of the postseason. Given the rivalry, it was very nice to hear such compliments and statements.
