Sorta had something similar but it happened much sooner then what you describe. I had a bump forming in the socket were the tooth was pulled from. Kept pushing upwards until it broke the skin and I pulled it out. Turned out to be a small piece of tooth that got healed over and I guess during the healing process, it eventually got pushed out.
