That means we already like eachother, and that if he pays he would probably already realize I'm not after a free meal, and he's not just out to get laid. I don't feel offended if the guy pays. I'm already so ultra-independent in every other area of my life it's nice to feel pampered once in a while. And some guys get a little offended if I offer to pay, it's like they want to be nice but I'm not letting them. So it depends on the situation. And yeah I know guys like to be pampered too so I think it's a matter of give and take.
