I'd offer to pay, but if she offers to split it I'll accept because:

a) I'm mindful that more and more women find the whole patriarchal aspect of a man insisting to pay objectionable; and

b) I hate games and want to avoid them from the outset -- if you want X, ask for it. Don't secretly want X but say Y hoping that I'll ignore what you say and give you what you want anyway.

The only time I'll vary from that is if I know there's a big disparity in income, in which case I'll push harder, though never insist.
