Agreed. It's not very Alpha to insist on going Dutch on a first date. Also don't be a cheap screw when it comes to the tip. Being cheap with money always communicates pettyness to women.
I say insist on paying the bill on the first date and suggest paying the next couple of times. If she's more than happy to get free meals out of you and doesn't offer to go dutch at any point, find another girl. Rinse, lather, repeat.
