just another point of view as i am sure you will get plenty of folks telling you to get linksys or whatever else is popular.

a few years back when i was looking for a new router, i stumbled onto dd-wrt which is a firmware upgrade for routers that allows all sorts of advanced features. it all started on the linksys wrt54g router. i was going to get that one, but the dd-wrt forums suggested that buffalo routers got better range than the linksys ones. so i bought this:

It has worked great for me for several years now. its something i always try and advocate as another option to the big boys.
