I asked this in the random thoughts thread, but didn't get an answer, so I'll ask here.
How do you know the difference between an inturn and and outturn? I curled for a year when I was a teenager, but never knew the difference.
Also, when you are sweeping, you are basically melting the pebbles so the rock doesn't curl, right? So by the end of a game, how come the ice still has curl to it? I figured all the sweeping would have worn the pebbles down so much that the curl would be gone. Can anyone shed some light for me?
Edit- Another question. How strict are they on the hog line? Because it seems that the guys often slightly hold onto the rock too long, although it's pretty hard to tell on TV.
