The outrage is coming against an organization that tells everyone that they are the moral high ground and yet are completely hypocritical when it comes to morals. The Supreme court ruled that the death penalty for a conviction of 1st degree murder is permissible, a ruling of death penalty for raping a child is not.

The only difference I see is the Church believes an unborn infant deserves the same protection as an "actual" person.
