Lol, I guess that's one way! How badly did you get hurt before you made it to that stage? I remember getting punched in the bicep a lot whenever I made that remark.
As an aside, and another story that involves punching, I have an ex that I am still really good friends with and I spent a few days at her house last weekend. She was showing me some prospects that were mailing her on a dating website. Pulling up one guy she groaned a little at what he wrote. It was very close to: 'It is nice to see someone on this site with the class and charisma that you exude.' Class and charisma were the words he used for sure.
Now dating this girl for a few years in the past I could see the charisma comment for sure, although class may not ever be a word I use to describe her. She's a great girl in many ways, but that wouldn't be on my top 25 list of words for positive description of her, lol. Anyway, with her mocking the note first, I felt I was safe to get away with a boisterous:
'Wow! He doesn't know you AT ALL!' Obviously a more relevant comment given the fact we had dated some time, whether I was joking or not.
I got a shift punch to the chest and a 'mother****er!' (ironically, proving what I was saying about class! lol) and about 2 minutes of serious awkwardness before I was able to get her laughing again with a joke that changed the subject.
Total dog house moment, even though I wasn't dating her.
