Deerfoot was basically going 30 and it was damned near impossible to see in front of your car.

Damned near impossible? I would say it was impossible! Where I was it looked like there were only 2 lanes, from 4, and the two people I could see had their hazards on, which I never thought of doing, but a smart idea. Luckily I only had to drive on it for a km 'til the exit. We were doing maybe 40 at best.
Then I get on the onramp and head to the lights so I can turn left and go to Deerfoot Mall (Wal-Mart), and the light never turned green. I was sitting there for over 6 minutes when I just said forget this and ran the red. Then coming back I had to do the light again, but go through the one that was always green, and noticed others running the red. Obviously the sensors on the ground weren't working but jeez.
