I have looked around to see what Cassel will actually be paid and from what I can find $14,000,000 for this season is the number. The Chiefs are currently under media lock down so it is really hard to find any info on what the contract status of Cassel really is.

$14.65 Million.
That is the value of the franchise tag, and since he signed and submitted that to the league, that is a guaranteed amount for the upcoming year.
Now he can sign a new contract with the Chiefs and change the conditions; something like get that 14.65 as a signing bonus then have a more sane contract for 5 years to spread out the signing bonus over the term. But I can't imagine an agent anywhere letting him sign anything that will guarantee anything less than $14.65 Million, Pioli just needs to get the cap hit spread out over more years.
