I would say it is confusing at first. Like all games you have to start learning the maps, but in this case all of the maps have a substantial vertical component to them which makes it very confusing. The second thing that will trip people up is the fact that you have to be very methodical, as it only takes a few bullets to go down. This combined with not knowing the maps means you will die very, very often.
The way the rounds work is very interesting, as the objective will switch every 5 minutes. This means that every five minutes you are trying to accomplish something new. The objectives are Body Count (kill more people then the other team), Search and Retrieve (capture the flag), Search and Destroy (Bomb and area or protect it), Capture and Hold (multiple areas to capture, first one to hold them longest wins) and Assassination (one guy is selected the target, protect him or kill him). This makes it hard for the rounds to be boring and means you can usually just sit in one room the whole night.
To be honest I was a little skeptical at first about the multiplayer. I kind of hated it. I think this was more the fact that I wasn't doing very well, and sitting on the sidelines because you are dead is never very fun. I am starting to get into it as I am eager to try out the different player types.
