I am also a Broncos fan, I have never thought the team could win with him as QB. And this whole knife to the heart quote really makes me sick to think that he thinks that he is untouchable, a guy who couldnt get the team to the playoffs this year or beat SD once.
If you look at this objectively, think what they could have got for Cutler.
Say a 1st rounder next year, 2nd this year, and maybe a 3rd or more. That means you move Cutler, get Cassel, a first, and a third. I think you take a shot with the Cassel/McDaniel combo, and if it doesnt work you use the first round pick next year to draft a qb and if it doest work out you sign Cassel long term and you have 2 first round picks next year.
To me it sounds more as if maybe Detroit and Tampa were fishing thinking that the Denver might want to reunite Cassel with McDaniels and were bringing offers to Denver. Denver would have to look at these offers if they included a 1st rounder and at least think about it given Cutlers preformace so far.
