No argument here, other than to wonder how much of that is due to over-obsessive media coverage of just one guy in the first place? I don't think it's healthy for one person to dominate coverage to such an insane extent, for the very reason that once that one person is hurt/on sabbatical/retired, what else does the sport have going for it?
Not that I really care, as I don't watch golf in the first place, but you have to think that if someone who doesn't watch golf gets annoyed by the hype, how much worse must it be for those who do watch golf and are actually fans of someone else? I know my dad, for one, doesn't watch as much golf as he did even five years ago because it's all Tiger, all the time, even when he isn't among the leaders.
