They've done a pretty good job. They've updated the look of the show while maintaining the cheese factor of the original series. Fun for the family.
Eccelston has stepped down as Doctor Who and the second series along with an upcoming Christmas special will feature (most likely) David Tennant as the 10th Doctor. Billie Piper will remain with the series.
