I don't really know that they are really that far beyond Kootenay. They are both in the middle of their respective conferences, Seattle 5th and Kootenay 6th. However the Ice have 66 points to the Thunderbirds 64, and hold a game in hand. Looking at the statistics, other than the top three scorers for Seattle, there really isn't much seperation between the two teams.
While Seattle may have the more talented team, and does hold a victory over Kootenay, I really don't think the difference between the two teams is that great, and certainly is not great enough to suggest that Seattle is a better team to struggle against due to their vast superiority over Kootenay.
