I also can't grow a beard to save my life. Just random whiskers.

I shave once a week or so, and it varied between electric or with a fusion. Fusion leaves things smoother, but electric doesn't irritate as much I find.

I have a power fusion, but I don't use that feature and have the regular blades, no issues.
