The Habs were not pleased with Burrows and wanted him to ship out as soon as possible. The Blues were of course interested in the pesk so a deal was quickly worked out.

To Habs

Barret Jackman (76)
Antti Miettenen (74)
4th Rndr (FLA)

To Blues

Alex Burrows (73)
Jordan Leopold (72)
3rd Rndr (Que)

All these guys are a similar age and on similar contracts, and next year will have similar ratings. We were more than happy to bring in Jackman who we feel will continue to play a pivotal role on the Blues blueline with all the youngsters. We also felt Miettenen and Burrows were fairly similar players so we weren't downgrading really there.

Miettenen is out for the rest of the year, so essentially Spike picks up two roster players for the price of one.

Thanks for the deal, and thanks for taking Burrows, I hate that clown.
