I'm generally for "funding the arts", but this this stinks like feet. It's like paying for the right to not buy something.

Now I'm wondering if there is a way I can get in on it. It is the internet after all, so anyone can put stuff on it.

In fact, I just had an idea. Any Canadian out there is not reading this post owes me a penny. It is 100% Canadian content after all. It is my artistic output and I deserve to be compensated if people aren't willing to read it.
