I don't like the CRTC fussing with TV and radio, but at least that makes some amount of sense. If you are going to broadcast in Canada, you gotta show/play some Canadian stuff and that's that.

But the internet isn't in Canada. They can't control it and any effort to do so will fail or be circumvented so fast it'll be like the controls don't exist at all. It'll cost a lot of money though, we can be sure of that.

I've never cared for this guy so I just didn't watch his shows. I've always been given the choice. I have the choice to watch or not watch him right now. He appears to be lobbying for me to have an enhanced choice, through which my ISP will show me his unfunny material whether I want to see it or not. Thanks for the choice, Mr. Mochrie. By the way, has anyone ever told you that you look like a penis?
In the most simple breakdown, what they're looking for is a general "tax" that will be added onto what ISPs charge for internet access. Of course we know that the ISPs will directly pass of this charge to us. I'm not sure if they've exactly stated that's what they want, but I think that we can construe that that's the direction they're going.

Much like the blank CD tax. Basically a cash grab. Complete and utter garbage.

EDIT: oops I see that Bobblehead has already stated this.
