I've mentioned the benefits of HIIT on here a LOT of times already, but I have to bring it up.

Building your cardiovascular endurance up to the point where you can run 5+ miles at a time is pointless if you're doing it for weight loss. HIIT, for 20 min, gets a better response metabolically from your body than LIIT training EVER will.

Of course, there are people who love to run, and I'm not trying to take anything from them. An accomplished runner should be proud of their dedication to keep their routine. But if you're new to the fitness world, HIIT is a much better option.

Trainers like Mark Rippetoe think people that run 10 miles for 'fitness' are idiots. He is rather blunt, but the guy has a point, even if he has a narrow-minded approach. Lift weights or do CF if you want to be fit. And just because you lift weights, it doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get 'big' or 'ripped.'

You only gain muscle if you 'eat' like you want to gain muscle.

Crossfit is fast becoming an extremely popular training method. And why not? Its fun, challenging, interesting....and you can push yourself like nothing else.
