Looks like another amazingly difficult set up for a US Open. I was surprised to see so many guys under par today after all the bitchng and moaning these guys do leading up to the start of the tournament.

I love the US open and the way the USGA sets up the course. It is a nice change of pace to see those guys really sweat out there and struggle like the common man does. We see enough tournaments where they shoot 25 under par.

Any thoughts on a winner and their score?

Tiger is always a good pick but I just don't think he is quite where he wants to be yet. Although it would be cool to see him complete the grand slam in a year. I think he will win at St. Andrews in July.

Goosen looks good to repeat again, he has a great US open demeanour and a fantastic short game which you will need here.

My official pick though is going to be Phil Mickelson. Just have a feeling he can pull it off. I say he wins with a 2 under par.
