I've heard they'll send you a new one, and you send your back in an exchange process. Hope this is true, because I don't want some crappy loaner phone while it's repaired.

I had a problem with my screen. I made an appointment with an Apple "genius",
backed up my phone, took the phone in and demonstrated the problem, and they gave me a new one on the spot. Great system.
