I considered doing it last year, but this credit comes at a good time so I will probably schedule it this year.
I think Dan02 does this sort of work (maybe I shold see what his schedule is like), maybe he has a better idea of this qualifies.

Thanks for the plug Bobblehead, as for the tax credit. I am 99% sure a new roof qualifies, however, small repairs might not.
I did some research for this thread and found some links, including a newspaper article where the reporter claimed to have called the finance department and confirmed that yes a new roof is definately covered by the credit.
However, i hit submit and to my chagrin, I had lost internet connection and hadn't noticed and lost the post and unfortunately at the moment don't have time to put it back together.
